Spheroidal Galaxies and DM

Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxies (dSph) are among the best astrophysical targets for indirect research of dark matter (DM) through the detection of signals emitted by a possible one auto-interaction (annihilation or decay).

Using accurate analysis, like deep color-magnitude diagram and radial velocity measurements, the researchers will estimate the DM content of nearby DSphs. In addition, thanks to Gaia new observation they will take advantage of the position and trigonometric parallaxes obtaining information about the proper motion. The ACDC simulation provide a catalogue of optical candidate for the indirect search of DM with Cherenkov telescopes.
